Sneakie Peaks!

Master Bedroom Incarnation Number 3-October 2014
Y'all know I mentioned I have been working on creating a serene peaceful oasis in my room for Husband Darling and I these last few weeks. I will give you just a couple snapshots of how it is coming together to whet your whistle with a FULL REVEAL coming very soon!!!!! I am almost there, just completing finishing touches and cleaning up my mess!
The fireplace got a full redo

go to interest to find this beautiful free printable that I used here

Over the moon with my teal deer head I scored at Walmart in the Christmas decor, but I think he will be hanging around long after Christmas!
ok, that's all for now but much much more to come!!!

Fall Mantel 2014

I have just a few more fall pics from around the house that I wanted to share with you. Here is our family room mantel
with it's newly made Fall banner I made out of old drop cloth pieces that were left after I made the fall pillows! I am so in to this dark orange and teal in this room this season!! You can also see the coral pillows from the Master Bedroom found their way down here and I love that canvas of Husband Darling and I last fall! Also an antique truck my husband played with as a child and the yellow bird is from my grandmother's house. The #5 I picked up, where else but the Country living Fair! and a few newsprint leaves for a modern take on fall decor, I actually cut those from a Italian print copy of the Divinci Code I picked up at Goodwill for a quarter, you will be seeing those newsprint pages popping up all over in various projects from now till December!!

And  this little froggie cuz I just love him, I found him at a yard sale for a quarter, which just makes me happy.

He is living on the new entry table in the front hall currently.
That table is currently decorated with a print from the Graphics Fairy and a little Halloween owl. That plant is a pineapple top, I wrote an article last year for the Extension Service on Garbage Gardening, you would be amazed at what we throw out that would net us more food or free plants!

Country Living Fair Part 634, I Think

Ok my darlings, here is yet another fun little thing I picked up at the Country Living Fair in Columbus in September. Beautiful vintage beaded necklaces at 1$ a piece!!! And here is what I did with them!

they add just a bit more interest and bling to our once brass then black and currently silver chandelier in the dining room!

More Fall Y'all!!!

Hey y'all So much going on here in our little house on Clover Ridge!! I am frantically finishing up tons of projects so I can be ready to decorate for Christmas in a week or so!!! The first week is usually just unpacking, sorting, crafting and then I do one room at a time until every room has been touched Can you feel my excitement??!! Love decorating the house for Christmas!
But before I can unleash my elf I must accomplish a few tasks! There are unfinished painting, crafting, fall decorating, and organizational projects in every room at the moment! UGH!

(small aside, I really overuse the exclamation point when it comes to Christmas, just get used to it. I really am THAT excited. In Ikea last week I honest to goodness squealed out loud and jumped up and down when I saw they had their Christmas decor out! I don't know how else to convey I am literally bouncing up and down thinking about all the joy ad fun that comes with the Santa season!)

So I am frantically finishing all the projects I can! Including a really big Master Bedroom Redecorating, Teen Room Redecorating and a hall bath redo. But I took a few quick pics this morning of some of the fall decor I haven't gotten around to sharing with you yet this morning while I was sipping my coffee in my pajamas.  So just to increase your anticipation I will do one post at a time, lol

Here is our front door, I already shared our little countdown to candy sign. This is our current door decoration. The color scheme gives you a hint of more of the same inside.

We are ready for Halloween with our teal blue skeleton and variety of pumpkins and gourds.

ok, I planned extra meals this time because the kids had fall break and were home all day so I thought I might need extra meals and I wanted to have some flexibility with our schedule getting increasingly hectic with all the kids activities. These are in no particular order. You will notice I use a lot of the same ingredients repeatedly in the menu plan so I make sure to use all the produce up and less goe to waste and it also makes shopping easier and cheaper buying fewer ingredients. This plan has a lot of spinach, mustard, squashes and rice. Which are also perfect for fall weather!

Frenzy!

Guess who is amassing a pile of craft supplies mentally labeled Christmas!!!!??? AND getting really excited about it!

I am working like crazy to get all other projects marked off my list and done including switching out the kids summer/winter clothes so I can get to craftin'!!!

Sneak Peek!!

Hey y'all!

Things are in a state of flux here at the little house on Clover Ridge. After a whole summer of focusing my attention on my babies my house was crying out for some love and attention. So room by room it has been getting cleaned and prepped for colder weather. Some rooms needed more then just a good cleaning and as I finish up each space I promise to share (can't wait to show you what I did with a stack of maps!) but I just couldn't resist giving you a sneak peek at this project. My old bed really needed a new look. It's orangey colored stain just had to go and honestly it was just a boring old bed I got at a ...you know it, a yard sale! So I slapped some paint on it and decided to upholster it!! This is an "in progress" pic to whet your whistle! When I give you the  BIG REVEAL of the bedroom update I will tell you all about it!!

Fall Cute Quickie!

Y'all know I love instant gratification. Cute, quick projects that don't require a lot of time, expense or effort are right up my alley. I don't know about you but my kids take me being distracted with a project as a license for destruction. I am always stunned when I come up for air from a bigger project of hyper focus on one area of our home to discover a bomb has gone off in the rest of the house! So my super fave is quick little cuties!
When we were at the Country Living Fair in September one of the fun things I picked up was some vintage ABC flash cards. I love the graphic quality of things like that but often in the moment when I find them I can't think of a specific word to look for to really make good use of them. But this time I nailed it. Yay me! I love the way this turned out!
That's the close-up and here is the context. I just popped a hole in them and tied them with twine onto sheer ribbon. I added a couple of leaves cut from book pages and tied it to the mirror in the front hall. And this is how it looks
And this reveals another project that was KINDA quick but not as quick. I picked up this little demi lune entry way table at the Goodwill a couple weeks ago and gave it multiple coats of white paint, used a little silver paint to highlight some details and whipped up a little fabric half moon to top it off that repeats the fabulous and ultra trendy Moroccan graphic I hand painted on the wall in a previous post. It has better storage then the old sewing machine table and it fits the space better. Love me some Goodwill! And now the entryway is one step closer to being dressed for fall!
